Our Privacy Commitment
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This is the Privacy Policy for Finance & Tax Consultants Pty Ltd (FTC, we, us, our), the operator of this website at https://www.ftconsultants.com.au. It sets out how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
As a registered tax agent practice, we also handle information that carries extra obligations beyond the APPs alone, in particular tax file numbers, covered separately below. As a registered tax agent practice, we may collect your tax file number (TFN) where it is necessary to prepare or lodge a tax return or provide another service that requires it. We handle TFN information in accordance with the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015, made under the Privacy Act, which sets specific rules for collecting, storing, using, disclosing and disposing of TFN information, separate from and in addition to the APPs.

Where this applies, we take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the APPs, as required by APP 8. We are working through confirming the exact position for each provider we use and will update this section accordingly.
8. Cookies and tracking technologies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies, small files stored on your device when you visit, to help it function, understand website traffic, and display features like our Google reviews. These may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, using a combination of physical, electronic and administrative safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. As a registered tax agent practice, we are also subject to record-keeping obligations that generally require certain client records to be retained for a minimum period; we destroy or de-identify personal information once it is no longer needed for these purposes or required to be kept by law.
11. Data breaches
If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act.
12. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, in line with APPs 12 and 13. Contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity first, and we’ll respond within a reasonable period. There’s no charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access in some circumstances.
